Gleichentag means "even day" and is celebrated around the time of the Fall Equinox (Sept. 21st). It was the second harvest time (the third and last was Dieses aka Samhain), so food and drink are often brought and shared with others during this time. In fact, this is one of the most common High Day rites for groves to have a Norse drinking rite called a symbul, during which participants drink (alcohol or not, as their choice), toast to each other and the Kindreds, and boast of their past deeds and accomplishments yet to come.
