Storms or something rolling over Rovena? [20:07] [Owlhawk] As for the facebook posts, i was late getting home from work, so they went up late [20:07] Thank you Owlhawk for putting them up [20:08] [Owlhawk] no problem....when i remember that is [20:09] *** Lonnie (Mibbit@sorcery-pr0221.client.mchsi.com) has quit IRC [Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client] [20:09] so what is everyone up to? Though it appears to be a ghost-town. [20:31] XD [20:31] [Owlhawk] hello [20:31] You could say that Niki =P [20:32] Here I was thinking, this late, I'd walk into the discussion of something bizarre and new. [20:32] How about the Eclipse? Anyone do anything special? [20:32] [Owlhawk] what eclipse? [20:32] The total solar eclipse? [20:33] I think it was only visible in Asia. [20:33] Given that it was only visible in Asia, I didn't really do much [20:34] Hm. Have any of you tried anything on an eclipse? There was a lunar eclipse not too long ago, visible in the states. [20:37] I just saw some of the photos for this eclipse. So pretty! Though I'm sure most of the ancients didn't view it that way. [20:39] [Owlhawk] i don't give them much thought. with proper planning interesting magic boosts are possible during eclipeses [20:40] That's what I figured. The moon seems to be tied in with magick and general ritual and mysticism. I kinda feel the best at dawn. :/ [20:42] [Owlhawk] aqctually it's more the juxtapostion of forces and the balancing of them and how an ecllipse changes that [20:42] *** Bjorn (Mibbit@sorcery-ekn1kp.res.rr.com) has quit IRC [Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client] [20:43] Hm. Do you think the location, then, matters? Because it's an eclipse today. Some places will see it, some will see it partially, and others not at all. [20:43] But if we all did a ritual...or magick...would be it be different, then? [20:44] [Owlhawk] I would think it would, but it's not something I've experimented with [20:47] It'd be interesting to test. I'd actually like to see what people feel is the "best" time of day to perform rituals. Just to see if there's any times which are overtly popular or not used at all. [20:48] [Owlhawk] depends on the purpose of the ritual and the Being of the Occasion [20:49] [Owlhawk] For instance a ritual honouring Eos should be held at Dawn [20:51] Hm. Yes, that makes sense. I'm used to conducting High Days at night, though...I thought I read somewhere they were supposed to be performed at dusk. [20:51] [Owlhawk] not that anyone has ever told me. Conduct them when it feels right to do so to you...or when you can find the time! [20:53] Hm. I might try Ostara during the day, then, this year. [20:53] Or at dawn. [20:53] [Owlhawk] :) [20:54] You can fall down some serious rabbit holes when it comes to "perfectly" timing your rituals [20:54] But if you're solitary, there's no harm in trying different times of day - right on down to a Yule ritual at midnight and a midsummer ritual at noon! [20:55] [Owlhawk] The possible expecption here might be Yule. there are is a tradition for some groves to have an overnight vigil and meet the dawning Sun with a ritual [20:55] How typical is it for people to celebrate a High Day with a mutli-day or set of rituals, rather than just one? [20:56] [Owlhawk] That's a question for ADF Discuss. It should set off an interestiog converstation [20:57] All the timings! [21:09] Well...now that it's gone all quiet again, I shall depart, and will hope to see you all next week. :) Thank you for your inputs! [21:11] Good night, eceryone.
