The Slavic Kin e-list is the ideal place to ask questions and share topics of Slavic interest.  We also welcome topics of Baltic interest until such time that an independent Baltic Kin is established.  Remember though that membership of the e-list does not automatically make one a member of the Slavic Kin. Slawa!

These traditions include, but are not limited to, the Vedics, the Indo-Iranians, the Tocharians, the Armenians, and the Anatolians. The name Aus Dhwer was chosen from two Indo-European root words. Aus meaning to shine, dawn or east and Dhwer meaning door, doorway or gate. Thus, we have Aus Dhwer meaning Eastern Gate. For the reason that we represent many different cultures within the Indo-Europeans, we chose a Proto-Indo-European root name as we felt it would not be just to favor one culture's language over another.

Order
(asc) Description
Order of the Raven and Falcon This order is dedicated to Oðin and Freyja. It will focus on devotional work for Odin and Freyja. The order will engage in magical and trance work with the aim of bringing back useful information from the Other Worlds, especially from the World Tree Yggdrasil.Order OverviewThe Outer Order This is the starting point of the order. It is mainly for folks who do not have their ADF Dedicant Path (DP) work done yet. Some materials are provided to get you started. This includes devotional rites to both Odin and Freyja, a Two Powers meditation based on the Norse Fire and Ice imagery, and instructions on working on building one's Inner Hall. This work will be one's starting point for any trance journey work. At this level, Outer Order members are not considered full members of the Order. Once the DP work is done, then members may be initiated into the First Knot.
Order of the Dead The ADF Order of the Dead is a magical-religious Order comprised of ADF members dedicated to reviving ancient Indo-European ancestor traditions and practices. We strive to create traditions and practices for the present and future concerning death and dying that will meet the modern needs of our membership. This Order specifically seeks to serve as a resource for individuals and groups in this world and the Otherworld to facilitate communication, provide education and fulfill the needs of the living and the dead.
Order of the Crane The ADF Order of the Crane is an Order based on devotion and transformative work. The Order and its members will work to serve ADF by developing ritual, liturgy and tradition at our hearth shrines and as part of a wider community. The Crane is the central symbol of our work, really representing all liminal waterbirds (herons, egrets, cranes, etc.) and promoting transformation and devotion. Beyond keeping devotionals and the High Days at their shrines, Order members will develop rituals to build and respond to a transformative experience. As the Crane is about transformation and all the ways we encounter it, so too is this Order about those things that transform us. Note: This Order, while it grew from the work in Three Cranes Grove, ADF, does not require membership in 3CG in any way, shape or form, and not all 3CG members are members of the Order.
Order of Manannán The Order of Manannán mac Lir is focused on devotionals and rituals based on what we know of the Gaelic God Manannán mac Lir.  The Order and its members will work to serve ADF by developing ritual, liturgy, and tradition at our hearth shrines and as part of a wider community.  The Order of Manannán mac Lir is about magic and the power of working with water, and as such will turn members' focus as to why the ancient Gaels turned to water to make offerings. Members will work toward an understanding through rituals, offerings, and the study program as to why Manannán is the oldest and most complex of Gaelic gods.
Demeter and Eleusinian Order The Demeter and Eleusinian Order (DEO) exists to bring the teachings of the cycles of life, death, and life again as taught by Demeter through the Eleusinian Mysteries into a modern ADF Druid context. DEO shall create a standard of shrine devotionals, publishable ADF Eight High Day rituals, and in-depth study and working program, and a supplementary cycle of rituals centered on a Demetrian cycle to create Order and hearth traditions that will serve the individual and the greater ADF community. The work done by the Order will center around the transformative and purifying teachings of Demeter concerning the cycles of life and the eternal spirit. While several historical sources will be considered, our core work will be based on Homeric Hymn #2 - Demeter. All members who wish to participate in the DEO Study Program must register with the Preceptor before beginning this program.  To do so, please visit the Course Enrollment Page.
