[21:21] [Owlhawk] I have a friend that does a copy edit of any study program work I'm going to hand in
[21:21] <ambermdoty> I think that's what a lot of people get caught up on.  Courses aren't Pass/Fail.  It is 100% ok (and expected) to have a course returned for additional work.  That doesn't necessarily mean you've done poorly at all.
[21:21] <Rovena> Reviewers want you to succeed but the right way
[21:21] <Arin> I just try to make sure any of my essays are good enough to print in our newsletter. If I feel it is, then I put it in the completed folder, and move on to the next.
[21:22] <ambermdoty> So, the difference between it and other courses....If you do "ok" work in a classroom, they may give you a C and you are done with the course.  With ADF courses, they don't do that.  Instead, they show you where to improve and have you update it to make it "A" level work.  :)
[21:22] <Victoria_S> Yeah ... I grammar check and run it through automated copy editing. Having a friend to copy edit would rock

[21:22] <Arin> Which is what makes it Druid studies, and not plain ol' school

[21:24] <Arin> I've been using Scrivener to organize my DP, super helpful, because it actually has rough draft/final draft type elements.
[21:25] <Victoria_S> I keep waffling between using Scrivner and not. I need the portability as sometimes I edit things at work
[21:25] <Arin> And I can organize each document based on what part of the DP it is. High Days/Virtues/Shrine/Etc
[21:26] <Rovena> Just got my first student to mentor Super excited to help someone else with the DP
[21:26] <Rovena> SOunds like a good program
[21:27] <Arin> That makes sense. I do all my DP work from home, so of course it works for me. And when I finally get a laptop again, I plan on setting it up to screenshare with my home PC, if I ever take it to the library or something, so I can still work in Scrivner

[21:27] <ambermdoty> I tend to do everything in word and sync it to my Google Docs so I can get to it everywhere, even on my phone if I need to.
