Winterstar 1998
The WinterStar '98 Liturgical Team
Made up of members from SCG, Shining Lakes Grove, Sassafras Grove and Solitaries (the S factor) from around the country.
They are (clockwise from top left): Sean (Webmaster, SCG), Derek (SLG), Fox (Archdruid, Senior Druid, SLG), Ian (Vice Archdruid, Liturgist, SCG), Liafal (Senior Druid, SCG), Diana & Earrach (Senior Druid, Sassafras), Melissa & Jennifer (Solitaries from Brooklyn), Chrys (SCG), Janet & Phil (SLG), and Lisa (ADF Office & SLG).
Sean, Ian & Fox in a pre-ritual moment of reflection on whether the ancient Celts would have used strings of lights and flash paper in their ceremonies...prompting discussion of hallowing the electrical outlets...
We used Shining Lakes' convention of placing altars to the 3 Kindreds around the Grove. This first (properly maintained by Derek & Lisa of SLG) is for the Nature Spirits.
All three were wound round with lights and the Ancestors Altar (attended by Diana & Earrach of Sassafras) had a running fountain on it.
Everyone contributed objects. There were at least a dozen images of the Shining Ones represented on the Deities Altar (attended to by Sean & Chrys).
WinterStar Drummers happily volunteered the neccessary funk to keep the Nemeton hopping. We see Alex of Earth Rythmn (center, standing) setting up a cue.
