Leader Bio: A.C.BackgroundA.C. has served as Scribe and Senior Druid of The 6th Night Grove in Dayton, Ohio. A proud grandson of Scotland, he often provides a skeptical viewpoint on many issues. Just ask him! Beware of his sharp tongue, he likes to ask questions where others might shy away. More often playful than vicious, he is fond of testing the mettle of other's ideas and kindly expects the same in return. AC holds an Associate's of Applied Science Degree in Industrial Engineering, and has spent his life cutting and forming metal. He has worked as an Engineer and Project Manager. He also has served as the Financial Secretary and President of a local Machinist's Union and he currently operates his own machine shop business. He claims to identify with a "working man's" view of spirituality and organizations. How I first Joined ADFADF sparked in me a direction I have had casual contact with my whole life. I had dated 'witches' and even grew up with a 'kitchen witch' hanging over the sink. My business partner follows a solitary Pagan path. One day near a Samhain, we were working on our business plans in a local drinking establishment. My partner asked, "Is Samhain going to be a paid holiday?" That caught the ear of the local Senior Druid and the rest moved on from there. Within a few years, I replaced him. What first attracted you to ADF?ADF presented me with a spiritual forum that respects my own personal beliefs. I relish in the fact that there is not just one 'way' to believe. Equality of thought seams universal. As we worship the Gods, we try to follow their teachings and inspirations. Yet, I believe that the Gods may have changed many things throughout the evolution from ancient times. I feel ADF is not a set of strict scriptures, but more of a belief or teaching system that encourages the individual to find what is suitable for them. I found a deep faith within the Celtic pantheon, and I hope I can help others find their specific path. My favorite question from newcomers is "Can you teach me to be a Druid?" I can only respond, "No, I can only help you teach yourself!" My vision of ADFI see ADF more of a 'Confederation of Groves' than a national movement. As with most grass-roots movements, the strengths of the organization lie predominantly at the local level. The ADF hierarchy exists to provide organizational support, service and credibility to the local Groves. ADF members are fortunate to have the diversity, knowledge base, and talent pools such a national organization can provide.
