Leader Bio: Emerald Dragyn

Emerald Dragyn

Why are you involved in ADF?

I have been a member of ADF since January 1997 and Seers Guild Registrar since October 1998. I am co-founder of The Grove of the Midnight Sun in New Jersey and was Senior Druid and Priestess for many years. I am also the Chief Liturgist of the grove with ritual duties that include the omen of return, opening of gates, invocations and meditation. I have performed handfastings and rites of passage for pagan friends and grove kinfolk. My ordination was in March of 1998 by the Sanctuary of the Beloved.

In April of 98 I received my certification in hypnotherapy from the IACT and have counseled approximately 18 clients. The following year I completed 3rd degree in the Usui System of Natural Healing (Reiki).

What do you do in ADF?

I am proud to be the Senior Druid of The Grove of the Midnight Sun and also their high priestess. The kinsfolk who I call family truly honor me with their love and support. I am also registrar of ADF's Seers Guild and the Pursewarden of the Council of Senior Druids.

I have created and presented workshops such as Principals of Divination, Responsibilities of the Diviner and Rune Magick. I have also assisted in Meditation and Reiki workshops for the general public. It is important for me to share our Druidry with our local community not only in public ritual, workshops, roundtable gatherings but also with our grove's outreach programs.

This year I was able to expand from creative writing consultant to actually having my own work published. Autumn was published in Circle Magazine's Samhain issue. Norse Druid Yule Celebration appeared in their December issue.

What is your personal vision for ADF's future?

My personal vision for ADF's future is to see it growing larger and stronger. As long as the leadership continues to do an exceptional job of offering a home for seekers and searchers with the study programs and workshops, this organization can only become better. I have hopes of ADF becoming recognized as the leader in the Neopagan movement. An accepted (by mainstream groups) religious organization throughout North American with churches, ordinations, outreach programs and schools for those seeking to learn the Old Ways.
