Leader Bio: Ashleyder Keayin

Photo of
Ashleyder Keayin My name is Melissa Ng and I live in Providence, RI. I am a Celtic Solitary and my "craft" or magical name is Ashleyder Keayin. I majored in Art and Interior Design in college and actually went to work as a web designer in the end. Over the past 7 years I have worked for several companies in that capacity, Including Fidelity Investments, Compaq and Mitre Corporation but when the economy died and affected my field so dramatically, I decided to take it in a new direction and free lance. This has given me the opportunity to work on a variety of really interesting projects I never would have been able to if I had just remained with the corporate system. Some of the more interesting ones I've done are losttotheworld.com, claymaniacs.com, bocellionline.com, ask-a-chick.com, and kcchildcare.com.

Also, my own website can be found at www.wingedsidhe.com . One other site I will be working on in the near future is a site for Native American interest groups (I will be doing the design for it) and can't wait to see how it will eventually turn out). Anyway, aside from my work I am also interested in watercolors and computer generated 3D graphics as mediums for my artwork.

I am also into beaded jewelry making as well as clay sculpture though my latest passion seems to be knitting, as I've found it works well as a meditative aid(I'm one of these people who can't sit still so having something like knitting to do while I meditate is a great help) and it seems that I can just do it for hours on end..:) I am also interested in quilting though I have limited experience with that, but I plan to take more advanced classes in that in the near future and hope to try designing some Celtic knotwork animal designs.

In addition to these things I am the owner of 2 groups at Yahoo, Modern Celtic Women and paganfeast. Modern Celtic Women obviously is for women who are interested in Celtic things and paganfeast caters to a wider audience including all pagans and is for those of us interested in food and cooking for pagan holidays. I write an article for paganfeast for most of the high days that I am aware of(most of these seem to be Celtic or Asatru though I look for ways to include other cultures by offering votes to the membership on what they would like to have) and so far, having both groups has been a lot of fun and I look forward to continuing to watch them grow..

As for my ADF experience, I am Chief of the Artisans Guild, a member of the Seers Guild and the Liturgist Guild, and am in the process of completing the Dedicant Program.
