Leader Bio: Anne Lenzi

Who I am

My name is Anne Lenzi and I was the ADF Member's Advocate until November 2007.

When I joined ADF, I was looking for something more substantial than what I found in the general Pagan Community. I had been involved in the Pagan Community for over a decade but had been hard pressed to find anything resembling an organized Pagan religion, let alone a group where I could raise children and create a religious legacy. For the past several years I have found a home within ADF and its varied members.

What I do in ADF

My leadership role in ADF started in 2003, when I co-founded a grove in Portland, Oregon. I served as Grove Organizer and then as Grove Administrator from 2003 to 2005.

In 2005, I was elected as the Northwest Regional Representative and was blessed with the opportunity to meet many of the Northwest Members and groves, as well as bring ADF to PantheaCon.

In 2006, I completed my Dedicant Program on the third year of my attempt to do so.

What I do in the Pagan Community

In addition to my ADF duties, I run the Green Room at PantheaCon and have worked the convention since 1999.

For 2005 and 2006, I was the local coordinator for the Pagan Pride Project in Portland, OR.

I co-run Salmon and Hazelnut Family Fellowship, a private group focused on families and children also located in Portland, OR.

Non-Pagan Activities

Over the past 3 years I have become more and more involved in the "natural birth" movement, to the point that became a Doula (through Birth Arts International) and am also in the very beginning stages of becoming a direct entry midwife, which I hope to be in practice as a midwife by 2012.

To pay the bills, I have worked in the legal field for almost 10 years and am currently a Paralegal for a small, general practice firm in the Pacific Northwest.

My Vision for ADF

I would like to see ADF continue with its role as a "teaching" organization and continue to expand its dedicant and clergy programs. I would also like to see ADF take more of a leadership role in environmental and educational action, I certainly wouldn't mind see an ADF Hospital, Hospice, Day Care, or Nature Center!
